Volunteer Tutors Needed!
Help Children Learn To Read!

Start the Adventure in Reading (STAIR) is a volunteer-based, non-profit children’s literacy organization that provides free reading tutors for public school second grade students.

For 23 years, STAIR’s trained volunteers have tutored one-on-one with second graders in danger of academic failure to improve their reading and language skills.    Students and tutors meet after school or on Saturday mornings at sites around Orleans, Jefferson and Plaquemines Parishes.  
 
Now more than ever, STAIR needs your help.  Find out how you can give our children improved reading skills during the 2008-2009 school year.
