My daughter is a resident of New Orleans, but now attending school in
Atlanta because of the situation in New Orleans post Katrina.  She
attended Orleans public school from third grade through eighth, and
finished eighth grade in the year after the storm.  The decision to
enroll her in high school in Atlanta meant that at age 15 she no longer
lives with a parent.  

As a New Orleans resident attending high school elsewhere because of the
critical situation in New Orleans, is she also invited to contribute to
the essay contest?  She would like to describe her ideas about how the
violence has affected her life and what she would do about it to reduce
it.

My wife & I are thinking about spending a couple of weeks in the Marigny
to see if we like it enough to buy a vacation home.  We're thinking
about the 1st 2 weeks of January. We're non-smoker senior citizens
(barely).  Does anybody know of rental availability in the
Esplanade-Elysian Fields-Dauphine triangle?

Hello Neighbors

           My name is Robert suscribers and I would like to make you
aware of a potential bio-hazard being proposed to be built at the foot
of Espanade Ave.. Many of you may have heard of plans that call for the
building of a New Orleans Cold Storage Warehouse at the Gov. Nicholls
Wharf.  I will save you from most of the details and just say this could
be as dangerous of a dilemma  as it comes. Please visit my Website @

planned. There will be a public meeting about the proposed warehouse
presented by the Port of New Orleans at NOCCA on DEC 11. There are many
groups lining up to oppose this project, who believe there are locations
better able to handle this,  because of the danger among other issues.
We need to show a united front on this issue and beg  for your attention
to this matter. We must in numbers assure a powerful voice that they may
hear us!!
