BYWATER COMMUNITY TO BUILD   
“LITTLE HANDS” NEIGHBORHOOD PLAYGROUND   
Markey Park to be site of the newest community playground for  kids  
WHAT:             Markey Park neighborhood volunteers will join  sponsors 
from the Allstate Foundation, the Injury Free Coalition for Kids and  Operation 
Kids to build a state-of-the-art safe recreational space for children.   
WHEN:             Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008 – 8:00 a.m.

NOTES:            Markey Park residents have  partnered with the Allstate 
Foundation, the Injury Free Coalition for Kids and  Operation Kids in their 
campaign to build a safe recreational space for kids in  our neighborhood.  
Markey Park successfully bid for  the playground as part of the “Little Hands 
Neighborhood Playground  Partnership”; a plan that will build as many as five 
new safe recreational  spaces across New  Orleans during the next three  
years.
