STAIR Left Behind Film Screening

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Please consider the attached invitation to attend a screening of "Left
Behind" that will include an intriguing discussion session with the
filmmaker and other panelists on Thursday, October 30, 2008, 6pm at the
Louisiana Humanities Center .  "Left Behind" is a highly hailed film and a
compelling story about New Orleans public schools. Donations of $10 are
requested for the screening and a cash bar will be available with a
donation request for $1.  All contributions will benefit the work of the
Connect2Educate (C2E) Collaborative.

The Connect2Educate (C2E) Collaborative is an innovative partnership of
diverse organizations, including Start the Adventure in Reading, Greater
New Orleans Afterschool Partnership, Communities in Schools-New Orleans,
Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, and Save Our Schools NOLA, that
have come together to help overcome the inequitable public school
utilization of community programs as well as the inefficiencies that exist
in connecting community resource providers and public school
decision-makers. In 2009, the C2E Collaborativewill produce an event and
resource guide. TheCONNECT2EDUCATE: A COMMUNITY & PUBLIC SCHOOL MIXER event
will take place on Saturday, March 7th at the University of New Orleans
Lindy Boggs International Conference Center and will provide a unique
opportunity for schools and resource providers to make personal contact,
share information, and determine interest in pursuing a future connection.
The CONNECT2EDUCATE:  COMMUNITY RESOURCE PROVIDER GUIDE FOR PUBLIC
SCHOOLSwill be published and distributed at the same time of the event as
well as after and provide a comprehensive snapshot of most locally
available high quality community resource programs for public schools.
