[MarignyBywater] Homestead exemption/bad idea

When everyone has skin in the game (i.e., has to pay SOME taxes), everyone
will pay a lot more attention to where the money goes. All those
homestead-exempt folks are rolling their fair tax burden onto those of us
whose houses are worth more than $75K, and also onto businesses and renters,
and onto people who pay sales taxes. Sales taxes (e.g., on food) adversely
affect the poor, who can least afford them. Getting rid of the exemption
should equalize the tax burden and probably lower taxes on more expensive
property. At least you can deduct them on your tax return.
