FYI the design is in the public domain - that's why there are so many products (jewelry, placemats, clocks, etc.) legally using it.  It is possible to buy the unused but authentic covers from the manufacturer - of course, not saying that's what this Ebay guy did.  But it is something that can be done.

If SWB does outsource the making of their covers, it is doubtful that they would give the manufacturer permission to make money off of their logo. I noticed the seller has a couple of ads on ebay. One states that they have a limited number of them and "when they're gone, they're gone"  at $29.95. Another ad states they they are now $40 due to a small increase from the manufacturer.

One could email the "seller" and ask the name of the manufacturer- or contact SWB (if you have hours to waste on hold) and ask about purchasing.

I did go on E-Bay and found the water meter covers for sale. Several people
 had already written in to ask if they were stolen. The seller claims that he bought them directly from the foundry that makes them. Could this be true,
 or is he really selling stolen property?
