Please see the note below from Transport for NOLA regarding a meeting on the Rampart/St. Claude Streetcar

VCPORA has long been supportive of the construction of a streetcar line
along the Quarter's lakeside border. We're joined in this position by French
Quarter Citizens, N. Rampart Main Street Association, and many of the
other neighborhoods along the spine of the proposed route.

However...

At a recent meeting, the Regional Transit Authority announced three
possible new routes: the Rampart/St. Claude line; a line that would go
from the CBD to Union Passenger Terminal; and a route along Convention
Center Boulevard. Their numbers claimed that the Rampart/St. Claude
line would be the most expensive, and have the smallest ridership, of
the three lines. The 50+ attendees questioned the methodology and
conclusions of those numbers, and - to a person - urged the RTA to put the next line along Rampart/St. Claude.

If you're concerned about where the next streetcar line goes, try to attend this meeting.

To stakeholders within the St. Claude Streetcar proposed alignment -

Our organization, Transport for NOLA, would like to extend a SAVE THE DATE invitation to your organization and members.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 10TH
7 PM - 8 PM
NOCCA (2800 Chartres Street)

The purpose of this meeting will be to inform the neighborhood/residents of the current status of the streetcar
expansion project. As you may already know, the RTA has three proposed
alignments. Transport for NOLA is strongly advocating that the route
that goes along St. Claude and Rampart streets be the first priority.
We would like to make sure the residents are aware of the status and
details of the project. Our group will have a presentation regarding
the project. We have also drafted a resolution in order to show the RTA
and the Federal Transit Administration that the residents are on board
and to create a consensus.

We are working on finalizing a location for the event. As soon as
that is finalized, I will send out a final invitation, along with an
agenda.

This meeting is a pre-cursor to a larger event that
will take place on Saturday June, 13th for the St. Roch/St. Claude
Revitalization center. I have attached the flyer for that event. Our
organization would also like to present to the resolution and
signatures to Sen. Landrieu on Saturday.

If you could please send this to the members of your organizations,
that would be greatly appreciated. We would like to try and get a
estimate on how many people will be able to attend. Please RSVP to this
e-mail. The more people - the better!

If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to call or e-mail me. My phone number is below.

Thank you and hope to see you at the event!

Sincerely,

Madeline Brozen
