THE JOAN OF ARC PROJECT IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE SEVERAL NEAT-O THINGS:

Wed. September 16th from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Joan of Arc Book Club #2 session--Free and Open to the Public
This special Joan of Arc Book Club gathering features NOCCA students who will present pieces of George Bernard Shaw's "Saint Joan" before the discussion of the play at Garden District Book Shop. Join us for this free 20 minute showcase by NOCCA students of excerpts from Shaw's classic play about Joan's journey from Domremy girl to Orleans soldier to sassy and self-representing prisoner-on-trial.  After the performance we'll talk about the play and how it remains one of the most respected and modern portrayals of Joan of Arc.

ON SALE NOW!! JOAN FOR MAYOR 2010 tshirts
For sale at Pop City, at St. Phillip and Decatur Streets, a stone's throw from the Joan of Arc statue in the French Market.

Coming soon...applications for a new Maid of New Orleans
While the parade welcomes any krewe member to dress as Joan, and we will always have many Joans of all shapes, sizes, and ages in our parade representing Joan at various stages of her life (the more the merrier!), we want to begin the tradition this year of selecting, as they do each year in Orleans, France, a "Joan" to lead our parade. The girl must be between 15 and 19, show true leadership abilities, and be enrolled in French language courses.  Applications will be sent to all local schools and colleges next week. To receive an application, email stjoankrewe at yahoo.com.
Applications will soon be posted on our website www.joanofarcproject.org.

OPEN FOR MEMBERSHIP!
The Krewe de Jeanne d'Arc produces the annual St. Joan of Arc Parade and is formally seeking members this year. For $100 you can join the krewe, receive signature throws, come to the krewe party at the Bienville House on January 3rd after the Joan of Arts Fete, and most importantly be part of the walking army on our new, extended route in the Quarter this year.  Visit www.joanofarcproject.org for membership levels and if interested email stjoankrewe at yahoo.com for an application.

Any questions call Amy at (504) 251-5046.

Vive Jeanne!
